Hogwarts Legacy has different options for you to combat with. So you can make various builds. Here are five of our favorites in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy is the re-creation of Harry Potter’s wizarding world in a video game setting. The game takes inspiration from the movies and books to create the perfect Hogwarts and its surrounding area. Aside from the area, Hogwarts Legacy focuses on giving the player an experience of how it is being a student of Hogwarts. In the game, you will learn new spells in class and use them in the open world.

Being an RPG, Hogwarts Legacy gives players many different ways to play the game. But since it is a first and foremost wizarding world game, magic will always be in the centre of combat. Nevertheless, the game does have room for creative builds and a good arsenal of crafting/consumable weapons. So here are five of our favorite builds in Hogwarts Legacy.

5 Best Builds in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy has a big collection of customization and a decent number of spells to learn and use. The spells are mainly categorized into two different talent trees. Other than that, they are color-coded to match different shield types the enemy throws at you. By mixing and matching all that, you can make different kinds of builds. Here are five of the best builds you can use in your game.

5. The Control Master

This build focuses on displaying control over your enemy. So we will use most of the control spells in the game. Then you can either slip in a few damage spells or go full-on control master using basic attack only. Either way, this is the most simple way to build a character in Hogwarts Legacy.

These are the spells you will need-

  • Levioso
  • Accio
  • Expelliarmus
  • Depulso
  • Glacius
  • Flipendo

Along with these spells, you will need to unlock Ancient Magic Throw Expertise from the talent tree. As for the other talents, you can put your points into upgrading each spell listed here. We don’t have any unforgivable curse in the list since it is meant to be a good wizard build. But you can definitely include Emperio in the mix, as it controls an enemy to attack others.

4. The Death Eater

Death Eaters are the group led by Lord Voldemort in the movies. They will use any spells and methods to get things done. We can make a build around them, and it is pretty fun. It contains all three unforgivable curses and some other support and damage spells to mix things up. These are the spells you need for this build.

  • Crucio
  • Imperio
  • Avada Kedavra
  • Flipendo
  • Diffindo
  • Incendio
  • Accio
  • Arresto Momentum
  • Transformation

We will focus on the tree of the dark arts for the talent tree more than anything. Of course, we will need some basic core talents like Ancient Magic Throw Expertise, Basic Cast Mastery, and Spell Knowledge. Then will max out the dark arts tree as we progress through the game. You can get some points into the spell tree if you want, but since this build focuses on being a Dark Wizard, the dark arts tree is the most important thing to have.

3. The Plant Master

If you couldn’t tell by the name, this build focuses on using different kinds of plants. Plants in Hogwarts Legacy can be used to craft different consumable items. On top of that, you can also use some plants directly for combat. This build relies heavily on these plants, so that you will need a steady supply of them. So we need a bit of preparation before we are comfortable with this playstyle.

To start with this build, you will need to unlock the Room of Requirement. Follow the main quest to unlock it. Then go to Hogsmeade and buy a Large pot table and T-shaped potion stand. And while you are on it, buy all kinds of seeds from the seed vendor. Now, return to the room of requirement and use the items to set up a steady supply of plants.

You can use any spell for this build, but we recommend you have one of all three types of spells in your spell slot. So a combination of Levioso, Desenco, and Incendio will work great in the build. As for the talents, we will max you the Room of Requirement tree. The rest can go to the core or even the spell tree depending on what you are using.

For this build, we will rely on consumables for the most part. So any plant that can deal damage to enemies is a must-have. Mandrake can stun enemies, but you can skip it since it doesn’t damage. You will also have to brew different potions to make the encounters easier while using plants to fight.

2. Stealth Master

Stealth in Hogwarts Legacy is an overlooked mechanic. This mechanic is used in different missions, but other than that, people don’t use it that much. The main reason is that players want to engage in spell combat and don’t want to sneak around. However, you can make a whole stealth build in the game if you want to. The stealth in Hogwarts Legacy can be a very powerful tool.

The stealth build is very simple. All you have to do is complete the main quest until you learn the Disillusionment charm. Then you are set to the build. However, this doesn’t become powerful until you invest some points into the talent tree. At max investment, it can be so powerful that you will wipe out the whole camp without anyone even noticing.

Since stealth has its own tree, it is a no-brainer that we must max it out. This tree has some powerful talents like area of effect takedown and decreasing detection range. Once you are done investing in this tree, move on to the core and spell tree for the time when you get caught and have to fight the enemies head-on.

1. Counter Master

Shielding is one of the basic elements of Hogwarts Legacy. You will learn it early in the game as it is a part of core combat. But you can also counter after a block. This makes the enemy stunned for a brief time. While they are stunned, they take additional damage from the spells. So you can make a whole build around it.

Countering sues the spell Stupify. This is a powerful spell, as it can break throw all types of shields. So you can have all damage spells in your spell slot and still come out on top in an encounter. This is what makes this build so good. The talents required for this build are,

  • Spell Knowledge I
  • Basic Cast Mastery
  • Protego Absorption
  • Protego Expertise
  • Stupefy Expertise
  • Protego Mastery
Counter in Hogwarts Legacy
Credit: Portkey Games

Having these talents will make your shield and counter a lot stronger than before. We will get an extra spell set for emergencies. If you miss a counter or find an enemy that needs the coordinate colored spell to beat, we will swap to your 2nd spell set to use the proper spell. The first spell set will have a lot of damage options to dish out maximum damage onto the enemies.

Sebastian, your Slytherin House companion, will face an important quest in Hogwarts Legacy with him. While chatting with him in the game, you will be given several options. This guide will show you whether you should tell Sebastian the truth.

Hogwarts Legacy not only allows you to become a wizard or witch, but it also allows you to make friends from different Houses within the game. Like the original series, Hogwarts Legacy has four Houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Pet numerous supernatural monsters such as werewolves, trolls, mooncalves, etc. In the game, you will have friends who will help you complete your quest.

There is Natsai Onai, Sebastian, and more NPCs from different Houses. Sebastian Shallow is from Slytherin House. And if you choose Slytherin, you will certainly have Sebastian as your friend. Sebastian has a dark family history; you must open the mysteries individually.

While Sebastian stays as your friend and your quest companion, you will face Shadow of the Undercroft quest. At the quest’s end, you will face Truth or Lie moment before Sebastian. Now there’s the question among players: whether you would choose to tell Sebastian the truth or the lie and if it will affect your main storyline.

Read More: All Natty Truth Choices – Should You Tell Natty the Truth?

All Sebastian Truth Choices & Outcomes

You will be given two choices at the end of Shadow of the Undercroft quest. Both of the choices’ outcomes will be different.

The first Truth Choice is “I’ll tell you the truth,” which is the real truth. If you choose this Truth Choice, you will talk about Ancient Magic and extend this conversation with Sebastian, and the quest will be completed. The talk about Ancient Magic will be crucial to Sebastian.

The second Truth Choice is “I’m not ready to tell you everything.” If you choose this answer, your conversation with Sebastian will end quickly, but the quest will not be completed. The quest will go on if you choose this second Truth Choice. Though you could choose the first choice, Sebastian will not mind if you choose not to tell about the Ancient Magic to Sebastian.

But no matter which Truth Choice you choose, both answers are correct. And your main storyline will not be affected, nor will your relationship with Sebastian break. All will be fine, and Sebastian will not doubt you or destroy the friendship. Sebastian will be your close companion and will always help you in your quests to complete those tasks. And Sebastian will never mind if you choose the second Truth Choice as Sebastian will understand that you are not yet ready to tell him everything.

Should You Kneel or Attack the Graphorn?

In this part, when you meet Graphorn, you will be given two choices, just like when you met Natty or Sebastian about the Truth Choices. But about Graphorn, there is no truth or lie. There is only the question if you will kneel or attack the Graphorn.

If you choose to Kneel, Graphorn will stop running away, let you get on its back, and give you a free ride of a lifetime. Whether you want to choose this option or not is completely your preference. The Graphorn will not hurt you if you kneel before it. After the ride, the quiet will be completed.

If you choose to Attack, you will eventually force Graphorn to complete the mission. But if you attack Graphorn, it will never attack you back. But it is your choice and morality if you want to approach it with love or hatred.

Whatever you choose from the two choices, Graphorn will help you complete the quest and get Graphorn Mount. With the Graphorn Mount, you will go forward in your gameplay easily. With both choices, you will surely get to ride with Graphorn, the magical beast of Hogwarts Legacy, and get the Graphorn Mount at the end.

Crucio is another important aspect of Hogwarts Legacy; you can memorize important Spells with it. This guide will show you all Crucio choice results as you will be given to learn or cast the Curcio, and the choice results may differ.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you can purchase and use your Wand to combat evil using magic spells and learn to create potions with other Hogwarts Legacy students. You can even become a member of your favorite House. NPCs will befriend players and assist them in completing quests and progressing through the game. There will be quests, and you will have options regarding your behavior in those quests.

When the Shadow of the Study quest starts, you will be asked if you want to learn or cast Crucio. You can learn and cast it yourself and ask your Slytherin Housemate, Sebastian, to do it for you. There will be different choices, and the results may vary.

All Crucio Choice Results

Unlike the other Truth Choices in Hogwarts Legacy, where you have to choose out of two options, in Crucio choices, you will be given three choices.

The First choice is “Very well. I don’t want to learn the Cruciatus Curse,” if you choose this particular answer, you will not be able to learn Crucio. It is never a must for Crucio in Hogwarts Legacy to go forward in the game.

The second choice is “I want to learn the Cruciatus Curse. But you must cast it on me,” if you choose the second answer, you will eventually learn Crucio. And when you learn Crucio, you will learn many important Spells with it.

The third choice is “Teach me the Cruciatus Curse, and I’ll cast it on you,” if you even choose this answer, you will still be able to learn Crucio. Whether you choose the second or third choice, you will learn Crucio, which you can learn later from Sebastian while conversing with him.

And about casting Crucio, you can cast it on Sebastian or ask him to cast it on you. But ensure you have no HP, as Crucio can greatly affect and decrease your HP. It doesn’t matter what choices you make; it will not affect your main storyline, and your gameplay will go smoothly. And even if you don’t want to learn Crucio right away, you can always learn it later but remember to learn it before you send in Sebastian in the Shadow of Fate quest. After that, you won’t be able to learn Crucio.

Hogwarts Legacy has a few different choices you can make at different points of the game. Penny, the house elf, has two different choices tied to her. Here are the outcomes of this choice.

Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. In this game, you start Hogwarts as a fifth-year student. As you progress through the game, you learn more spells and take on harder and stronger enemies. The game focuses on giving you an experience of how it feels to be a student of Hogwarts.

Being an RPG, you will find many mechanics in the game, from gear management to spell choice. But the dialogue choice is usually the most important part of an RPG since it can change the story drastically depending on the game. In the Playstation-exclusive quest, you will get a choice of freeing the house elf Penny. Here are the outcomes of it.

All Penny Choices Outcome in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy has a PS5 exclusive quest called “Minding Your Own Business.” In this quest, you come across the house elf Penny. After the quest, you are presented with two different options. These are the choices and their outcome:

  • Do not Set Penny Free: As a house elf, she will get contracted to you in the quest. So if you don’t set her free, she will stay bound to you and run the shop in the Hogsmead. You can visit her to sell your items there.
  • Set Penny Free: House-elves are set free when you give them clothes. So if you choose to set Penny free, your character will give her a hat. And she will be free. But she will not go anywhere. Instead, she will still stay and run the shop. The reason was she had always wanted to run a shop like that. But this time, when she runs the shop, she will wear the hat the player gave her.

So ultimately, the outcome is the same, no matter which one you choose. Ultimately, she will stay in the shop and look after it on your behalf.

All Fwooper Feather Choice Outcome

Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t shy away from giving the players a choice. You will have to make many choices at various points of the game. Some choice impacts the progress in certain ways, while others may change the outcome of the encounter but doesn’t affect the story.

Fwooper feather choice does not affect the story in any way. It has two options. Here are the options with the outcome you will get for each:

  • Steal the Feather from Sharp’s Office: If you steal the fwooper feather, the student will add it to the ingredient resulting in a firework in the cauldron. Then Sharp will call both of you and give you an earful, along with decreasing the point from the house.
  • Do not Steal the Feather from Sharp’s Office: If you do not steal the feather, then the abovementioned incident will not happen. Thus, the class will continue as usual, but Professor Sharp will notice your action.

No matter which option you choose, it doesn’t have any consequence on the game’s main story. So it is worth stealing the feather to enjoy the game’s spectacle. So in a sense, both of these options are the correct option.

Ask for Rewards in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Leagcy, quests don’t usually give any coins as a reward. But after certain quests, you can ask for a reward to get some coins at the end. For example, an early quest at Hogwarts have you chase flying books around the library. You can find all the books and return them to complete the quest. But you can also ask for a reward as payment while returning them.

The choices you are presented with often make you think they may have hidden consequences at the end of the game. However, this is not the case. These options are simply for the immersion of the player. You can be a noble-hearted person who does everything for free or someone who asks for rewards.

Other than that, these options don’t affect the game’s main story. So, depending on what you are role-playing, you can choose either of the options. But since all the spellcraft you need for the room of requirement costs a lot, it is wise to ask for the reward. That way, you can get everything you want for the room of requirement as soon as possible.

Eight different plants have been included in the game for now. You can travel across the game and collect them. But if you are not a big fan of exploring, Hogwarts Legacy also consists of the ability to grow and use your plants.

However, the question arises how do you plant them?

How to grow Plants

Well, all you have to do is get a Potting table from the Tomes and Scrolls shop, attend the Herbology lessons, and you are good to go. Once you have to the potting table, go to the Dogweed, Deathcap, or Magic Neep to get seeds of each plant. Now head to the Room of Requirement and put your harvesting boots on, and it’s time to be a farmer.

After you plant them, you will have to wait several minutes before the plant is ready to harvest. Each plant has a different timer, so plant all the ones you need to use before a battle. You can also increase the crop produced by buying a Fertilizer from The Magic Neep.

Learn where to find all the Gobs of Gobstone locations in Hogwarts Legacy.

Being a massive open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy offers many exciting and sometimes draggy side-quests in the game. This gives players more time to enjoy the game’s different elements and explore at their own pace. Furthermore, side quests also give an in-depth look into the game’s world by providing more interaction with characters and game lore.

Completing side-quests not only makes players get invested more in the game but also rewards them. These rewards can be valuable, rare items, currency, skills, etc. Similarly, Hogwarts Legacy also offers a variety of side-quests that can be highly rewarding or fun to complete.

One such side-quest is the Gobs Of Gobstones, where you need to look for an item called Gobstone scattered across Hogwarts. Gobstones are small marble-like balls that can be hard to find, especially when looking for the ones placed in awkward positions. Hence, this Hogwarts Legacy guide provides the location of all the Gobs of Gobstone. Now you can easily collect all of them and finish the quest quickly. So follow for more below.

What are Gobstones and How To Start The Quest for Gobstones

Gobstones are a magical game played mainly by wizarding children. Gobstones are played precisely like marbles, but the losing players get squirted with a foul-smelling liquid from these magic stones. Hence, owing to the bad reputation of the game by many.

The task of collecting these magical marbles is given to you in the game by a Ravenclaw member and fellow student Zenobia Noke in the quest called ‘Gobs of Gobestone.’ She can be found at the Defence Against The Dark Arts Tower, and after a series of conversation and dialog options, she’ll give you the quest of finding 6 Gobstones hidden in high places around Hogwarts campus. You’ll also need to learn the Accio skill to pull the Gobstones toward you.

Zenobia Noke | credit: Portkey Games

Although placed intentionally in high places such as ledges and beams, the location is marked on your mini-map. You can follow the mini-map to find where the Gobstone resides in Hogwarts Legacy.

Gobstone Locations in Hogwarts Legacy

The first Gobstone location in Hogwarts Legacy is the Transfiguration Courtyard. Follow your mini-map to the specific location. Head towards the ledge with the giant archway(one with owls). You’ll easily spot the Gobstone. Use Accio on it to grab it.

Follow the mini-map once again to get to the 2nd location.

Divination Classroom Floo Flame

Follow the map and head to the Divination Classroom Floo Flame. Walk past it, towards the rafters, and look towards the beams above the Central Hall to spot a shiny ball. That would be the Gobstone you’re looking for. Use Accio to take it.

Divination Tower

The third Gobstone is close and within the same vicinity. From where you found the 2nd Gobstone, head back to the Floo Flame and up the stairs towards the end. Look up to the chandelier to see the 3rd Gobstone placed on it.

Ravenclaw Tower

Head to Ravenclaw Tower in the hallway and look up to the blue pillars on the southeast side of the room. You’ll find a Gobstone sitting on a ledge.

Grand Staircase

The fifth Gobstone is located in the Grand Staircase area outside the Trophy room. Walk beyond Ravenclaw Tower and climb up the Grand Staircase and into the room with the different armor suits. Activate the Floo Flame for this area and look to your left on top of the arches of the windows to find the 5th Gobstone. Use Accio on it.

Trophy Room

The last Gobstone is the easiest to get a hold of. Enter the Trophy room and look for the large trophy case/shelf. It is situated north of the entrance. You’ll find the 6th Gobstone on the 3rd row between two large trophies.

With that, you have found all six Gobstone in Hogwarts Legacy. Now head back to Zenobia and talk to here for your reward in addition to some dialogue options.

You’ll choose whether to keep the Gobstones or give it to Zenobia. If you keep it to yourself, Zenobia will dislike you, which she’ll express every time you interact with her. She’ll also talk about how she has no friends in Hogwarts and does not like the school.

If you give her the Gobstones, she’ll be friendly to you and talk about trying to play Gobstones with others.

Nevertheless, which option you pick does not significantly impact your playthrough, and you get rewarded for completing the Gobs of Gobstone quest.

Reward For Finding All Gobstone

Finding all the Gobstones and completing the side quest rewards you with The Orbicula – Violet Wand Handle accessory. Its wood type is elder. Its Core type is Unicorn Hair, which has Unyielding flexibility, and the handle has a length of thirteen inches. Equip it from the Gear Tab from the Main Menu.
