Here’s what you need to do to obtain the Ancient Sword for Clive in Final Fantasy 16.

Not inheriting Pheonix’s power like his father meant Clive always had to prove his worth as a warrior through his swordsmanship. That’s why players will often see Clive relying on his sword skills, even after receiving the power of multiple Eikons in his adulthood.

That said, good swords are hard to come by in the war-riddled Valisthea and can oftentimes only be forged after obtaining their design drafts and gathering the required materials. However, there are a few exceptions, and the Ancient Sword is one of them.

To obtain the Ancient Sword in Final Fantasy 16, you must first gain access to the Boklad region in The Dhalmekian Republic. Doing so requires completing the Out of the Shadow main quest, which is the thirty-second story quest in the game.

Once you’ve reached Boklad, keep heading south until you’ve reached the center of The Steps of the Forgotten map area. Upon reaching the map center, head west until you see a small hill.

Go up all the way towards the two Helldivers, and climb up the ledge to enter a new area. You will find a white treasure chest there containing the Ancient Sword. And that’s it – you’ve unlocked yourself a rare sword from the age of the Fallen!

Here’s what you need to do to obtain the Excalibur sword for Clive in Final Fantasy 16.

The all-powerful Excalibur returns in Final Fantasy 16, but it makes you work for it. So, you won’t just find it lying around somewhere when exploring Valisthea. To obtain the famed sword, Clive will first have to do a series of side quests and then gather the necessary materials for forging it.

That’s right; the Excalibur can only be obtained by forging it at the Black Hammer. But first, you will need to win the favor of the blacksmith at the Hideaway and acquire its design draft.

Doing so requires completing the Blacksmith’s Blues and Blacksmith’s Blues II side quests. Once you’ve completed the second quest, you will get the Excalibur design draft as a reward.

Given you’ve unlocked the schematic, the second step would be to gather the required materials. The best and most efficient way of gathering different monster parts is to take on various Notorious Marks bounty hunts or loot chests.

The Belts in FF16 can be found inside chests or purchased for money. Moreover, you can also get them crafted at The Black Hammer’s forge if you acquire their design drafts.

While you need strength to challenge godly opponents, you must also work on your defenses to withstand the most deadly attacks. After all, you can’t go up against all the Eikons in Final Fantasy 16 if you lack the endurance to finish your quest to save the world.

Having said that, FF16 lacks the typical armor sets you might find in any other RPG for boosting defense. Instead of regular armor, Clive can equip Vambraces and Belts that increase his Defense stat while also boosting his Max HP threshold.

Final Fantasy 16 changes how the summons works in the game. Here is how to summon Shiva in the game.

Final Fantasy 16 takes the franchise to a new height and makes the game accessible to new players. In the past, it had either a turn-based combat system or a hybrid between turn-based and action combat. But this time around, Final Fantasy 16 only focuses on the character’s action combat.

As a direct result of the change in the combat system, the typical summons is not in the game anymore. Instead, they have been replaced with Eikons and Dominants. The Eikons are massively powerful beings with big setpieces around them, and usually end in an epic boss fight.

How to Unlock Shiva in Final Fantasy 16

Shiva is the Eikon of Ice, and its dominant is Jill Warrick. You can unlock Shiva’s abilities by completing the main quest Through the Maelstrom. This is a main story quest. So you don’t have to worry about missing it. You can access Shiva’s ability tree right after this quest.

All Shiva Abilities in FF16

These are all the Shiva abilities you can unlock after getting her essence in Final Fantasy 16:

  • Diamond Dust – Summons a storm to freeze enemies in place. Then deals massive damage and knocks them back.
  • Rime – Summon a colossal ice crystal that traps enemies inside. It deals continuous damage to all enemies inside the crystal.
  • Ice Age – Unleash a river of icicles that greatly knocks back any enemies it strikes.
  • Mesmerize – Launch multiple shards of ice that, upon striking lighter enemies, draw them toward Clive.
  • Cold Snap – Slide across the ground in any direction. Attacking while sliding can temporarily freeze enemies.

How to Use Shiva Abilities

Shiva’s abilities focus on crowd control and damaging enemies on the field. Her abilities can deal good damage, but they are at their most effective against a lighter group of enemies. Her abilities have the potential to be combined with other Eikon abilities like Titan’s. And the pulling closer ability also provides some good benefits to the players to potentially follow up with other Eikon abilities and deal massive damage to the target.

Here is a list of all the stats of Final Fantasy 16.

Apart from the storyline, Final Fantasy 16 also features a unique combat mechanism. The game is the latest addition to the famous Final Fantasy series and has achieved a lot in a short period of time. The developers, Square Enix, brought a lot of new features to provide the players with an immersive and unique RPG experience.

Throughout Final Fantasy 16, Clive will go against several kinds of enemies. With the progress of the storyline, the difficulty of these enemies will also keep increasing. As a result, it is important to know and improve the stats of Clive in Final Fantasy 16 in order to make him stronger, progressing through the game.

List of All Stats

Stats are the attributes of Clive at a certain point of your game. Increasing the stats is very much essential for making Clive more powerful during the battles. The stats of your character may even dictate the outcome of a battle if not upgraded proportionately. To make Clive stronger on the battlefield, you must first learn about all the stats that are used in Final Fantasy 16.

StatsDescription
HPHit Points (HP) also refers to the Health Point. This indicates how much health your character has left during the battle. Once this bar reaches zero, your character will die, ending the game for you.
AttackThis indicates how much damage Clive will deal on an enemy while attacking. The higher the Attack value is, Clive’s attack will be more stronger. However, this stat also depends on the quality of the gear that Clive is using.
DefenseThis indicates how much incoming damage Clive can resist from an enemy attack. The higher this stat is, Clive will survive the enemy attacks for more time by taking less amount of damage. Like the Attack stat, it also depends on the quality of the gear that Clive is using.
StaggerThis indicated the amount of damage that Clive can deal to an enemy’s will gauge. The higher the total value, the easier it is to knock down targets.
STRPlayer strength directly affects the attack ability.
VITPlayer vitality directly affects the defense ability.
WILPlayer will directly affect the stagger ability.

Learn how to summon Phoenix in Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 16 is the latest addition to the famous Final Fantasy franchise. The developer Square Enix had previously announced that they would be introducing a lot of new features to the franchise through Final Fantasy 16. As a matter of fact, the developers have brought a complete change to one of the most prominent features of the franchise, “Summon.”

Summoning has been a key mechanism of the previous Final Fantasy games. The developers have brought a major change in the system, as the protagonist of the game, Clive, can no longer directly summon anything. Rather, these summons are now called Eikons, and Clive will be able to use their abilities once the Eikons are unlocked.

There are eight playable Eikons in the game right now. Players will unlock all of them one by one just by following the game’s storyline. In this article, we will discuss everything about the Phoenix Eikon of Final Fantasy 16.

Read More: Garuda Summon Guide

How to Unlock Phoenix

Sunrise Sunset Final Fantasy 16
Square Enix

Phoenix is the Eikon of fire, and its dominant is Joshua Rosfield, the younger brother of Clive Rosfield and the son of the Archduke of Rosaria. The Phoenix Eikon plays a significant role in the overall storyline of Final Fantasy 16. To acquire the abilities of Phoenix, you must complete the main quest, “Sunrise, Sunset.”

All Phoenix Abilities

Final Fantasy 16 Phoenix
Square Enix

Phoenix’s abilities are mostly dependent on attacking the enemies. However, this Eikon does not have many strong attack abilities compared to other Eikons. But in the earlier stages of the game, the abilities of Phoenix might prove game-changing if used in the proper way with the proper set of abilities.

  • Rising Flame: By using this ability, Clive summons a fiery wing that deals damage. The wing can also launch lighter enemies into the air. This ability can be useful for the player for dealing the primary damage during the start of any battle.
  • Heatwave: Clive summons a wall of liquid flame and subsequently launches several deadly shockwaves. The force of the waves is amplified upon dispelling magic.
  • Flames of Rebirth: Using this skill, Clive summons a massive pillar of fire that damages any nearby enemy. This ability also helps Clive to restore his HP partially.
  • Phoenix Shift: Clive uses the Blessing of the Phoenix to close the gap between a target. Both melee attacks and magicked shots can be dealt with while shifting.
  • Scarlet Cyclone: After using this skill, Clive will spin fast and create a wall of fire, dealing damage to any enemy who comes in contact with it.

How to Use Phoenix Abilities

Since Clive is not the dominant Phoenix, he cannot transform into Phoenix, rather he will acquire the abilities of the Phoenix and also can use the abilities during battles. Players can upgrade and equip these Phoenix abilities whenever they want after they have successfully unlocked the abilities of the Eikon.

Phoenix is most helpful for the players during the earlier quests of the game. However, if you have unlocked a strong Eikon, you will most likely not want to use the abilities of Phoenix. However, Phoenix’s ability Heatwave can be a strong ranged attack against any enemy in Valisthea.

Other attack abilities like Flames of Rebirth and Rising Flames will also help you clear the wave of enemies and progress through the story smoothly. Once you have unlocked the abilities of the other Eikons, it would be wise for you to pair the Phoenix abilities with stronger ones from the other Eikons.

Final Fantasy 16 changes how the summons works in the game. Here is how to summon Ramuh in the game.

The original Final Fantasy games were turn-based JRPGs. But recent entries have been exploring a combination of turn-based and character-action combat. Finally, the new entry Final Fantasy 16, takes a different approach by completely discarding the hybrid system and instead introducing a streamlined character action combat system.

Even though in this new combat, your character cannot summon any Eikon as he wishes, he can use almost every Eikon’s power by the end of the game. Here we will go through how you can unlock Odin, what abilities you get from him, and how to use them in combat efficiently.

How to Unlock Ramuh in Final Fantasy 16

Ramuh is the Eikon of Lightning, and Cidolfus Telamon is its Dominant. Ramuh can be acquired by completing the quest named The Crystal’s Curse. Even though in this quest you will gain the ability to use Ramuh in the battle, the actual skill tree will not unlock until the next quest named Cid the Outlaw.

All Ramuh Abilities in FF16

These are all the Ramuh abilities you can unlock after getting his essence in Final Fantasy 16:

  • Pile Drive – Drive Ramuh’s staff into the ground, electrifying all enemies within a radius
  • Lightning Rod – Create a ball of lightning. Upon striking the enemy, it unleashes chains of lightning to other nearby enemies.
  • Blind Justice – Locks on a target and unleashes a barrage of lightning balls.
  • Judgment Bolt – Summon a mighty bolt that deals massive damage to a single target.
  • Thunderstorm – Call forth a powerful thunderstorm that rains multiple bolts of lightning down a target.
Credit: Square Enix

How to Use Ramuh Abilities

Ramuh has some great single-target and even AoE abilities. His single-target abilities are powerful for taking down larger enemies. And you can deal AoE lightning damage when you are fighting a horde of enemies. Because of the flexibility of his ability, he can also do a combo with other fast-paced Eikon abilities in the game.

Learn how to fast travel in Final Fantasy 16.

Square Enix just released one of the most anticipated games of this year, Final Fantasy 16. Like its predecessors, Final Fantasy 16 also features a comparatively large map and requires the players to visit many locations. Final Fantasy 16 features a semi-open world map, creating more scope for the players to interact.

Players of Final Fantasy 16 need to complete a wide variety of tasks in order to complete the game. These tasks will take them all around the land of Valisthea. Traveling from one place to another can be a hassle for a lot of players. Luckily enough, the developers have kept a fast travel option for the players to travel from one location to another in seconds.

How to Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16

Fast Travel is unlocked in Final Fantasy 16 during the game’s tutorial. The initial mission will send the players to Lostwing to fight the first boss, Midnight Raven. On their way to Lostwing, players will come across a blue shiny stone-like structure.

The structure that the players will come across is called the Obelisk. When you use the Fast Travel feature in Final Fantasy 16, you will be transported to another location through the Obelisks. However, you must first unlock the Obelisk of that certain location.

In the initial stage of the game, players will not have many locations to fast travel to. However, with time and through exploration and finishing quests, players will keep unlocking several Obelisks, which will allow them to fast travel to more points around Valisthea.

Fast traveling in Final Fantasy 16 is rather an easy task to do. Just follow the given steps:

  • Press Option
  • Open the mini map
  • Choose the Obelisk you want to travel to
  • Press on the Obelisk and hold X on your console
